It features college-educated mariachi professionals in music and non-music fields. Our upcoming key note speakers will be Adrian Perez, a Mechanical Engineer and one of the nation’s top mariachi harpists and Romina Huerta Hernandez, Speech Therapist, from Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles.
Mariachi Women’s
Music Institute
The Mariachi Women’s Music Institute provides teaching opportunities for mariachi women. As women outnumber men, the role of women in mariachi cultural maintenance is increasingly important. Trumpeter Cindy Shea of the two-time Grammy winning Mariachi Divas and Laura Macias of Mexico’s Mariachi Innovación Mexicana will lead the institute in 2023 by teaching the Mariachi Workshops for the Los Angeles Unified School District students in 2023 and in other Mariachi Women Foundation’s programs such as the Mariachi Pathways “Mariachi Femenil for Girls.”
