8th International Mariachi Women’s Festival

The 8th Annual International Mariachi Women's Festival was held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the Lakeside Amphitheater adjacent to the East Los Angeles Civic Center. We were at the end of the 2nd year of the Pandemic but still actively living in the pandemic. The festival opened with Mexico City's Mariachi Femenil Amazonas from Garibaldi Square where male mariachi groups have gathered and performed since the early 1900s. Mariachi Margaritas from Brownsville, Texas followed with traditional mariachi music. Our headliners, the two-time Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas closed the festival with their captivating Christmas show. It was great to see 800 courageous audience members bundled up and enjoying food, drink, and music at our evening outdoor event. They were masked and spread out in compliance with LA County COVID guidelines. One of our treasured guests was LA County Supervisor Gloria Molina. We didn't now that this would be her last year of life as she battled cancer. There were 3,700 who viewed our LIVE stream. This COVID year festival was dedicated to all who have supported the festival since its inception in 2014.
