5th International Mariachi Women’s Festival
The 5th Annual International Mariachi Women’s Festival was held at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse on July 21, 2018. The festival celebrated the all-female mariachi women’s groups that are found all over the world! Mariachi Las Adelitas UK from London and Mariachi Las Estrellas de Vancouver from Canada traveled to Los Angeles to express their love for mariachi music. Another special guest was Mariachi Alma del Folklore from Denver, Colorado. The festival ended with a performance by the two-time Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas that accompanied Junko Seiki, a Japanese mariachi singer. The dance troupe, Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles added excitement to this unique festival.
