4th International Mariachi Women’s Festival
The 4th Annual International Mariachi Women’s Festival was held at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse on March 25, 2017 and celebrated the music of Veracruz, Mexico. It was a musical journey from Jarocho fandango to mariachi fiesta. This festival opened with Mexico’s female Jarocho ensemble Caña Dulce y Caña Brava. Las Alteñas, the finest all-female mariachi group in San Antonio, Texas, followed along with the two-time Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas followed with mariachi renditions of songs from Veracruz, Mexico. Special Guests also included Jarocho musicians Libby and Cindy Harding.
